Thanks Dave:  Let me give you some more information.  This document came from another source several years ago and was originally an 11 x 17 size.  My need is to get this into an 8.5 x 11 Word document that can be pasted into a Word document.  Yesterday, I took the original file to the UPS store and we printed the file in an 11 x17 format.  They then reduced the larger printed version down to 8.5 x 11 and then scanned that smaller printed version into a pdf file.  When I opened the 8.5 x 11 file on my computer every thing looks fine.  However, when I tried to save the file as a Word document, the resulting file contained two pages.  One page has the text boxes and text.  The second page has the river channels on which the text boxes had originally been an overlay, I guess.  Hope this helps.
