i very much like the clarificatiion that you have provided here. my version of the catalog was the one that contained my photographs that was created as a backup and also called Catalog. So i think that there are a few questions that remain but lets see if I understand:
1) For those backup catalogues that I have on D and F i can still back those up by going to the drive (through photoshop elements and your instructions above) and doing a conversion. The result will still stay in the same drive. If I have multiple catalogues on a drive, I should convert each one of them or just the most recent?
2) For that backup of the catalog that was done in C, and then completely filled that drive, there is nothing I can do except increase the memory on drive C
3) After all the conversions are done, I can de-install photoshop elements 10 from C because it will no longer be useable with the old photographs
4) I should not touch/move the converted files in C
Is this correct?
